We have moved into our new home, and it’s fantastic to have space at last! Now our little boy is super active, to have room for him to run around and play is really special. The house is so light and bright, exactly what we wanted. And all the features are in tact because it hasn’t been touched since it was built in 1965. We feel very lucky.
On the flip side there is the reality of buying a house which hasn’t been touched since 1965! Rewiring, re-plumbing and new windows are the things we know we have to do. There are other things starting to make themselves known such as asbestos in the roof, a dodgy ‘sunroom’ which is on its last legs and lots of holes in walls hidden under picture frames. But we knew it was going to be a project. In the meantime I am writing this blog post perched in my new studio looking over our gorgeous garden with fields behind, and it makes me realise this is our forever home and everything will be ok.
