This 1960s architect-designed modernist property in Trollasen, Sweden, is so amazing I had to share it. It's for sale via fastighetsbyran. Built in 1961, it's retained some lovely details and has been sympathetically updated where needed. All images courtesy of http://www.fastighetsbyran.se/

Midcentury inspired lighting on the high street
So this is the object of my desire today - George Nelson's Saucer hanging lamp. It's a design classic, and is part of the permanent collection at MOMA, but *sigh* I can't afford it. Also I'd need two to hang in our lounge so I definitely can't stretch to that right now! So I'm on the hunt for… Continue reading Midcentury inspired lighting on the high street
We’re in!
We have moved into our new home, and it's fantastic to have space at last! Now our little boy is super active, to have room for him to run around and play is really special. The house is so light and bright, exactly what we wanted. And all the features are in tact because it hasn't been touched since… Continue reading We’re in!
Our dream midcentury home
When we started the search for our family home earlier this year, our brief was we wanted a 1960's house which hadn't been touched since the sixties. We love midcentury design, but all of the houses we went to look around had been stripped of all their sixties quirkiness and features. Then one day on rightmove… Continue reading Our dream midcentury home
west elm opening in London
I'm very excited to find out that west elm is opening a store in Tottenham Court Road, London next month. I see lots of lovely items online from this American homeware store, so I can't wait to go and see it all for myself. Here's my top 10 favourite west elm items on their site… Continue reading west elm opening in London
1960’s house envy
Wow what a beautiful house. It's for sale for the first time since it was built in 1967, and the owners have carefully maintained it's original details. Designed by the renowned architect Peter Aldington, the four-bedroom property was given a rare Grade II listing by English Heritage in recognition of its outstanding design. It's in South… Continue reading 1960’s house envy
Friday house envy
Happy Friday! To help us through the last day of the working week, here's an amazing midcentury gem to swoon over. This house in Wales looks as it would have done when it was built in 1966. I love the coloured bathroom suites (I am convinced these will come back into fashion soon!), built in storage… Continue reading Friday house envy
Friday apartment envy
The renovation work in our flat has slowed to a complete stop at the moment, as all things wedding-related seem to be taking up our free weekends. So for now, I will have to make do with looking at other people's lovely homes. This 1960's flat is in the Barbican, London. The owners have kept the… Continue reading Friday apartment envy
Urban Outfitters Furniture
As much as I love Urban Outfitters for their fashion, I usually ignore the small home section full of cute but often pointless stuff to clutter my already full flat. Now though, they've extended their range into furniture and other homeware, and from what I can see in the lookbook, it looks pretty cool. It's… Continue reading Urban Outfitters Furniture
Midcentury house envy!
This South East London house was designed in the late 1960s by the architect Royston Summers. It is available to rent (if you have a spare £3,900 per month!) I love the full height windows, the use of wood and the massive rooms. Amazing! All images The Modern House
